Island Plaza is the preeminent and largest shopping center in exclusive Marco Island, Florida. It was heavily damaged by Hurricane Wilma in 2005. Michael Platts of Tutwiler & Associates was hired by the Island Plaza partnership. After extensive documentation, research and negotiation as well as direction in assembling a team of professionals, the loss was agreed by all parties to be in excess of $2.5 million. The partnership was extremely satisfied with the settlement and their decision to hire Tutwiler & Associates. Mr. Platts has been hired by one of the principles to act as his public adjuster on three subsequent occasions for both business and personal losses.
