Hurricane Wilma hit the southern part of Florida 10/24/2005. It severely damaged one of the very first classic revival homes in the heart of the sea district in Key West, once owned by the "Cigar King"Aarturo Avalo in 1899. With a severe leaking roof which caused extensive damage to the interior of the home along with its contents, Public Adjuster Rick Tutwiler was retained to assess and analyze the damages. After two different adjusters and 18 months later, the claim went to appraisal. Mr. Tutwiler successfully negotiated a settlement for the insured of $32,413 over the initial offer of $0.
