Charter School Collects Huge For Both Wind & Flood Damage

Charter School Collects Huge For Both Wind & Flood Damage

New Orleans Middle School Advocates, Inc. is a private charter school located in the City of New Orleans. The district has three (3) school buildings that serve 701 students in grades KG through 8.  As a result of Hurricane Katrina, the buildings were extensively damaged by flood and wind. Extremely overwhelmed and seeking professional assistance with the claims process, the school Board of Directors approved to retain Tutwiler & Associates Public Adjusters to assist in them with the documentation, preparation, negotiation, and subsequent settlement with their insurance claims.  Both the windstorm and flood perils were covered by separate insurance companies with different adjusters representing the insurer's interests.  However, as a result of the efforts of Tutwiler & Associates Public Adjusters skill and expertise in documenting the claim, a large seven figure settlement for both wind and flood losses were paid allowing the charter school district to rebuild their buildings and resume their educational operations.
