On September 25, 2004, Hurricane Jeanne, the last of the Big 4 Hurricanes in 2004 came ashore in the general vicinity of the insured apartment complex. Wind and flood caused catastrophic damage to the extent that the building officials issued a demolition order. After much debate, Tutwiler and Associates, Inc. was able to recover the full policy limits, as well as the maximum limits on loss of rents.
