After a severe fire did significant damage to an orthopedics practice in North Carolina, public adjuster Keith Grams of Tutwiler & Associates was retained to represent the policyholders. Mr. Grams says this was an arson claim that came with an extraordinary amount of tight scrutiny and investigation by both insurance companies that were involved.
In addition to the nuances of the arson investigation and the complexities that arise out of these types of investigations, there were numerous complications arriving at a fair and proper amount of loss for the building damages and for all of the damaged business equipment.
Needless to say, meticulous documentation of the claim, several on-site meetings, coordinated follow-ups and intense negotiations were required to achieve a fair settlement. This extraordinary effort ultimately led to a 7-figure settlement which will allow the property and business owners to
rebuild the facility and properly replace the damaged property.
