Hurricane Irma struck South Florida as a Cat 1 hurricane. Even though it was downgraded from a Cat 3 hurricane, it still caused significant damage throughout Florida. Our client, who is a resident of Switzerland, sustained damage to their high rise condominium penthouse located in Miami Beach, Florida. Window seals were blown out of the luxurious top floor penthouse allowing water, driven by high winds, to enter the unit on both floors staining the stone flooring and causing other damages to the home.

A strip center in Tampa’s historic Ybor City caught fire destroying half of the building, a retail/manufacturing business and damaged the other section of the building rented to another tenant. The cause and origin of the fire was not suspicious, thus all the property owners needed to do was seemingly settle the claim with their insurance company. And here is where the trouble started.

Ocean Palms Condominium is a 38-floor, 262-unit very high-end condominium located in Hollywood Beach, FL. On November 11, 2011 Ocean Palms suffered a stoppage in the building’s plumbing system that resulted in multiple floor and units being damaged. The association immediately hired restoration people to clean up the areas affected.
